Baby Boomers

Following world war II the numbers of births sky-rocketed. 3.4 million more babies were born in 1946, 20% more than in 1945. By the time 1964 rolled around there were more than seventy six million "baby boomers."
The boom in birth happened because after men returned from war the ladies were ready to settle down and have children, often at the age of 20. They felt confident that after the war the future would be prosperous. The baby boom era encouraged women to leave the workforce and focus more on their role as mothers and wives. Many families moved to the suburbs post war. The baby boom and "suburbanization" go hand in hand.

Baby boomers who are alive today are in their sixties and seventies. They would enjoy watching television shows like 'Gilligan's Island,' 'The Adams Family,' and 'Happy Days.' Baby Boomers would like the two god father movies, The Godfather and The Godfather: part II, that came out when they were young adults. Baby boomers would enjoy shows like a Fleetwood Mac concert. They would also enjoy a tour through the ABBA museum in Stockholm, Sweden.

Baby Boomers in 2016 may enjoy traveling to Florida, a place where many people go after retirement. Once people stop working they have more time to travel and visits landmarks they have never seen before. For example, many retirees travel to Arizona to see the grand canyon.
