Social Responsibility
The owners of Rebel Dance Alliance, Riitta O'Connor and Bryan Steele, worked tirelessly to manage the perfect weekend of dancing. Management is used to plan, organize, and control all available resources to reach the company's goal. O'Connor and Steele's company is a private sector, which means it is not associated with government organizations.
Although the company has no affiliation with the government, they are very much so affiliated with numerous local charities. The Rebel Dance Alliance website says, "Rebel Dance Alliance is committed to giving back to our community. Part of the proceeds from our conventions will be donated to several non- profit organizations," A non- profit organization is one that is not operated for the purpose of making a profit.
The organizations the company donates to are iDance4aCURE, Speaking Through Dance, and the ALS Association of Northern New England. "iDance4aCURE" is an organization that helps the fight, research and support childhood cancers. The ALS Association helps support and guide those who are affected by ALS. And lastly, Speaking Through Dance fund raises and brings awareness to autism.
The owners of this convention, chose these charities because they support dancers and one of them has personal experience with ALS.
